This week at CBA Barcelona: Pitch2CBA and Workshop on cross border investment
Barcelona. This week at CBA we have been delighted to get to meet and know some innovative growth companies and startups in our Barcelona offices. On Tuesday we have organized our monthly Pitch2CBA event, where entrepreneurs can present their projects to a selection committee. The following day, Marta Emerson, director for Europe at CBA, has shed light onto the new phenomena “cross border investment” during a workshop with growth companies which aim to bring international investors on board.
The Pitch2CBA committee is always on the look-out for startups, over the last months in Spain in various cities including Barcelona, Madrid y Jaen and soon also in Valencia, Basque Country and Canarias. Most of the companies we have invested in so far share some characteristics such as: they are from tech vertical, have international potential, have already local investors on board and some traction or revenues and are interested into smart money from international investors.
During our workshop: “Are you ready to bring international investors on board?” Marta Emerson has explained who are those international investors, how to attract them, pitch them and how to work with them once you have them in your company. She also highlighted that it is important that the entrepreneur and investor should be on the same page right from the beginning and focus on the exit. Moreover, Entrepreneurs should not take any money – they should study the portfolio and expertise of the investor. The fundraising can be as time intensive as a full time job for the CEO with an average of 6 months.
Please write us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to present your company at our next Pitch2CBA or join our next workshop on how to find and attract an international investor.
